South Philly Rowhouse Combination

After years of living next to a deteriorating row home on a desirable block of Catharine Street, the owners of this project decided to buy the adjacent property and take on the project of combining it with their existing home.

We replaced the facade on the old property, and removed significant portions of the brick parti wall on the first and second floors. Smaller doorway openings on the third floor were possible due to the use of the space for a bedroom suite and a home office.

Steel support structure, especially on the second floor, was clad in wood and integrated into a decorative coffered ceiling.

The home now flows seamlessly between the previously divided properties with spacious living areas in the center, and bedrooms and bathrooms given privacy and abundant light around the outside edges of the home.
