Location: Philadelphia, PA
Project: Wallace St. Kitchen/Sunroom
The masonry wall separating the existing kitchen from the rear yard was removed with steel beams put in to support the structure above. The existing ceiling structure was exposed and a plaster veneer applied to all new walls and ceilings.
The mahogany armoire was salvaged by the homeowners from a neighboring home being demolished. The piece was deconstructed, labeled, and stored for over a year prior to the kitchen project beginning. The kitchen layout was then planned to incorporate the armoire which was retrofitted to include a bookcase, glass shelves, radiant floor controls, and a pull out pantry.
Soapstone countertops, mahogany shelving, and subway tile from Heritage Tile in Illinois complete the detailing in the kitchen. New windows and glass slider doors were installed in the sunroom and ktchen.
